This was a song that I started writing around the time I was working on my 2022 EP, 'poolside' (which may or may not be scrubbed from the internet by the time you're reading this, as I'm not very proud of that EP anymore). We had just traveled to Las Vegas, and I wanted to write sort of an ode to the city. I took a lot of inspiration from Imagine Dragon's "Sharks" and Dominic Fike's "3 Nights" to put together the instrumental vibe. I had a draft of this song completely done back in 2022, where the lyrics were much more conceptually related to Vegas itself, but I eventually decided it was way too corny and on-the-nose. With the exception of the chorus, and the kind of outro-bridge, I re-wrote the lyrics about a year later in 2023, and allowed them to be more free form and spontaneous.
